Description
Edgar Cayce brought castor oil packs to fame in the 20th century. The oil has a long and varied history of use as a healing agent in folk medicine. Castor Oil packs aid breast health by improving lymphatic drainage of the breast and eliminating toxins from breast tissue. To improve Liver health castor oil packs are also recommended.
In Pain
- Heat castor oil to a comfortable warm temperature
- Massage area with oil
- Cover area with cloth
- Soak the middle of cloth with oil
- Cover with glad wrap
- Put a hot water bottle on top for 15-20 min.
In midwifery, castor oil has been used to promote healing of the umbilicus in a newborn, to increase milk when applied to the breasts, to soothe sore, irritated, or inflamed nipples and to help initiate labour.
1. Soak a face washer in castor oil and apply to the area
2. Cover with a waterproof fabric
3. Apply heat with a hot water bottle
4. Keep in place for 30-80 minutes
5. Keep the face washer wrapped as it can be used many times
Castor bean seeds, believed to be 4,000 years old, have been found in Egyptian tombs and were used in the traditional medicine of Egypt, India, China, Persia, Africa, Greece, Southern Europe, and the Americas.
