Kalonji Seeds (Nigella or black cumin) are pungent and bitter with a heating energy. These little black seeds are marvellous for calming and strengthening digestion. May help to clear intestinal parasites when used in cooking. Also known as a digester of toxins, useful in congested liver and poor fat metabolism.
We like to sauté these seeds in ghee, add chopped tomatoes and spinach, pinch of asafoetida, salt, cover and cook. Serve with fresh chapati or rice.
