Our Alum crystals are made from Potassium Alum. This is the naturally occurring substance from India which was originally used in Ayurveda.
Most Alum Crystals on the market however are made from Ammonium Alum, a cheap, manufactured copy from Thailand. Potassium Alum is alkaline and cooling while Ammonium Alum is more acidic and abrasive.
Simply wet the alum crystal and apply to bites, pimples, heat rash, ulcers and inflamed areas. An Anti-fungal antibiotic for the skin.
The Alum Crystal is the perfect shaving companion.
